How do I know if I need to take Traffic School?

Traffic school is available for those who get a traffic ticket for a non-criminal moving violation. This does not apply to commercial driver license holders.

Traffic School is a requirement for license holders to keep their driving privileges if:

  • the driver was in a crash and at fault and
  • someone was taken to the hospital or
  • the driver had two crashes in two years, which resulted in damaged property that exceeded $50
  • the driver was convicted of
    • running a red light or stop sign
    • reckless driving
    • racing
    • failing to stop for a school bus

ADI (Advanced Driver Improvement) is required if the court has suspended or revoked your license but allowed you to take traffic school to get a hardship license.
